Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation (PaMPITO)

PaMPITO is the National Standards Setting Body (NSB) responsible for establishing and maintaining the training standards and national qualifications for the Plastics, Paint, Ink, Resin, Adhesives, Glass Container and Pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors in New Zealand.
In March 2002 the Government through its then agency, Skill New Zealand approved the extension of the existing coverage of the Plastics Industry Training Organisation, now PaMPITO to set standards at levels 1 to 8 on the National qualifications framework to include Paint, Ink, Resin and Adhesives manufacture.
The National Certificates in Materials Processing now include a specialist strand in paint manufacturing which in turn are registered on the Qualifications Framework. These qualifications are registered in the Manufacturing Field of the Framework.
Opportunity now exists for organisations within the paint manufacturing sector to fully participate in subsidised skill development for their employees.
The Paint, Ink, Resin and Adhesives sector is represented on the Management Committee of PaMPITO.
